2010 Recap & Looking Forward to the New Year!

It has been quite the year! I never thought that I would be in the position that I am when 2010 began, but it sure has been a roller coaster ride. A lot of hard work, and dedication, but it certainly does pay off, and I am seriously looking forward to expanding even more in the new year.

Just a little recap of all the great things that happened in 2010...

First thing, Freddie was born; Our AWESOME Red Eyed Tree Frog logo by Brad Forsyth made an appearance. I fell in love with it immediately (he is pretty cute!)

April 22 - Earth Day - Green Like a Frog was born!

The following weekend, we made a statement at the Green Living Show in Toronto. Green Like a Frog's first trade show, and basically our kick-off.

The Green Like a Frog first column was published (and will continue in 2011!)

The Green Like a Frog ONLINE Shop was launched, offering a variety products

The Directory was re-vamped to become more user friendly and we began loading up advertisers.

We made appearances at a variety of trade shows. Wrote a bunch of articles. Dreamed a little, achieved a lot.

We've only been running for a little over 6 months too!

2011 will be a GREAT year!

Just to give you a sneak peak of what you can expect.
1. TONS of articles will be published on the website & in newspapers
2. The directory will flourish
3. You will see us at many more events.
4. We've got TONS of new products coming in - how cool is that?
5. We will begin doing presentations on the environment.
6. Our videos section will become a little more populated (it's kind of a deserted island right now)
7. WE'RE GOING ACROSS CANADA!! (If all goes well, during the summer of 2011)
8. Overall, Green Like a Frog is going to MAKE A DIFFERENCE... MAKE A CHANGE... We are going to SAVE THE FUTURE!

Wash Your Clothes... With a BERRY... Who would Have Thought?

That's right! The latest addition to the Green Like a Frog online "Buy It NOW" Store is an all-natural BERRY that is 100% effective for cleaning clothing.
Mother Nature has her own method for cleaning clothing. Like our typical chemical-filled detergents, Mother Nature's cleanser is effective for cleaning stains and odors. In addition, her method is not only eco-friendly but it's also extremely affordable.

It truly is unbelievable to me that we would use anything else when we have this available right at our finger tips.

Don't believe me? Here's the lowdown on how they work!
Earth's Berries Soap Nuts, which are taken from the soapberry tree grown in India and Nepal, have a very high concentration of Saponin. This is a chemical compound that makes them sud when they come into contact with water, creating a foam-like substance. This is the exact same kind of reaction that chemical detergents aim to create, only this one is entirely natural.
How Do You Use Them?
It's incredibly simple! All you have to do is place 3-5 of the nuts into a small muslin drawstring bag (provided!). Throw it in your wash accompanied by your clothes and turn on your washing machine. They're even HE compatible! Each berry may be used up to 4 times, or until they become small and thin. At that point, they can go back to the earth through composting.
If you would rather create a soap nut liquid, you can e-mail us and we'll send you the procedure!
Environmental Benefits
Not only are they natural, but their run-off is clean, eco-friendly and not harmful to animals, plants, and eco systems. This also means they're incredibly gentle to clothes and skin. Furthermore, you don't have to use your rinse cycle, which saves gallons of water yearly.
The BEST PART?
The unbeatable pricing...
250g Bag (75-100 loads of laundry, includes 1 muslin wash bag) - $10.00
500g Bag (150-200 loads of laundry, including 2 muslin wash bags) - $18.00
1kg Bag (300-400 loads of laundry, including 4 muslin wash bags) - $30.00
Check them out on our online shopping cart by clicking HERE
Or

If you live in my area and would like to arrange for pick up/drop off, e-mail me (bailey@greenlikeafrog.com) with your order instead of doing it through the website. This also allows for more flexible payment options.
P.S. ALSO... Be sure to take a look at our organic mineral make-up, ALL ON SALE NOW, as well as our newly released beeswax products. There is certainly something for everyone at Green Like a Frog.

The Truth About Global Warming

I am more than pleased to announce that Green Like A Frog's column kicked off in the Springwater News this past Thursday. From now on, we will have a monthly column in newspaper(s) and on our website, so be sure to check it out.

The first column explores the two different sides to the global warming argument, but makes a conclusion that can be accepted by both sides of argument.

The main question, is what is happening to our planet?

You can read it online, on our website by clicking here: http://www.greenlikeafrog.com/articles/column/truthglobalwarming+1.php

Use Some Comedy To Help Spread the Message!

I came across a comedian the other day that I'd like to share with you. His name is George Carlin. Not only is he funny, but he also seems to have great points in what he says.

Here's two videos for you to see yourself:

He may seem kind of negative at the beginning, but he seems to have the exact same point of view that Green Like A Frog has in regards to the environment and "saving the planet".

I posted this one on the Green Like a Frog Facebook Page yesterday, but I also think he has such a great point here.

Hope you enjoyed the videos

It's a scorcher out today; drink lots of water, swim and stay safe and cool.... but avoid that air conditioning as much as possible!

The Booth. We had 3 booths, basically connected. Featuring: Green Like A Frog, Project Innovations, Tangoraysolar, Enerwise Inc, Water Smart Solutions, Pellegrino Inc & Bodystream.

Dalton Mcguinty - Who seemed quite interested in the Brac Greywater Recycling System! Pictured with him is Chris Thompson.
Again, Dalton Mcguinty, pictured with Chris Thompson and me (Right at the very edge)

Chris Thompson with Sandra Rinomato, the host of Property Virgins. Came to the booth on Saturday at 1:30 P.M.

Green Living Show

Green Like A Frog make it's real kick-off this weekend at the Green Living Show in Toronto, ON. I think it's pretty safe to say, I had a blast!

It was a trade show. Trade shows are supposed to be long, boring and tiring. But, it was seriously the other way around for me. Probably because it was the first time I had the chance to say, "HEY WORLD, I WANT YOU TO SEE WHAT I'VE DONE, IT'S CALLED GREEN LIKE A FROG... CHECK IT OUT!"

Not exactly like that, but nearly.

In the end, I'd met some AWESOME people, found some pretty cool eco-friendly companies and products and basically let my vision of Green Like A Frog be heard. Pretty cool, eh?

Highlights
  • Day one (Friday) mid-day: Dalton Mcguinty and a bunch of camera men round the corner and after interviewing Bodystream (Who was sharing a booth with us) headed straight for the Brac Greywater Recycling System my Dad distributes with Dalton claiming that this is what he wanted to see. Eh, not bad!
  • After Dalton and my Dad talk... Dad introduces me, along with Green Like a Frog and my writing. I'm camera-shy, usually, but you know, this was pretty cool. Dalton asked if I would be running against him anytime soon. I said no.
  • On the Saturday, at 1:30, Sandra Rinomato from Property Virgins was a guest star in our booth. She's super-nice and it was nice to finally meet her, after watching her show for so many years.
  • Someone asked me if my last name was Suzuki - Now THAT is a compliment!!!!
  • We had a STOP DUMP SITE 41 Sign at our booth and someone asked about it. So I explained it. Turns out, they were at the same run I was at. Better yet, they began talking about an article they found in the Springwater News about the site that they liked. I was overly excited to tell them, "I wrote it" That's never happened before. That totally made my day!
  • I spoke with the Green Party and they were totally impressed with Green Like A Frog and what I've been doing - hey, that's pretty cool.
That's just highlights. But overall, it was a super-cool weekend. I can't wait to get at it again with more trade shows. I envision Green Like A Frog getting big and I can hardly wait.

In conclusion, HEY WORLD, Here comes something big, something amazing, we're going to get there... Just you wait. I want to you learn about my latest dream come true, it's called Green Like A Frog.
